A method of protecting an intestinal tract in a subject, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof:
- an agent comprising a polyphosphoric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- a microorganism which produces a polyphosphoric acid.
A method of preventing or ameliorating an inflammatory bowel disease, the method comprising administering to a subject in need thereof:
- an agent comprising a polyphosphoric acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof;
- or
- a microorganism which produces a polyphosphoric acid.
