Abstract
Surprising antiviral activity of 3-amino-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-(3H)-quinazolinone (Compound 1) was reported in the treatment or prevention of viral infections, particularly in combination with other antiviral agents such as interferon and/or ribavarin.
Claims5
A method for the treatment of a hepatitis C virus infection in a host, comprising contacting a cell infected with a hepatitis C virus an effective amount of 3-amino-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-(3H)-quinazolinone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound 3-amino-2-(4-nitrophenyl)-4-(3H)-quinazolinone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, in combination with one or more other antiviral agents, and one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, excipients or diluents.
