Abstract
A method for suppressing T cell activation which comprises contacting a cell population comprising T cells in vitro or ex viva with an effective amount of STRO-1+ cells and/or soluble factors derived therefrom to suppress cell activation.
Claims21
A method for suppressing T cell activation which comprises contacting a cell population comprising T cells in vitro or ex vivo with an effective amount of STRO-1+ cells and/or soluble factors derived therefrom to suppress T cell activation.
A method according to claim 2, wherein the cell population is a peripheral blood mononuclear cell sample.
A composition comprising T cells, STRO-1+ cells and/or soluble factors derived therefrom, one or more factors which induce formation of regulatory T cells and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
A method for treating an autoimmune disorder in a subject in need thereof comprising treating a cell population comprising T cells in vitro or ex vivo with an effective amount of STRO-1+ cells and/or soluble factors derived therefrom to suppress T cell activation and administering the treated cells to the subject.
A method for treating or preventing a disorder caused by excessive or aberrant T cell activation comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an amount of STRO-1+ cells and/or soluble factors derived therefrom effective to suppress T-cell activation in the patient.
