A wireless communication device comprising:

• a reception circuit configured to receive a first probe request from another device;
• a transmission circuit configured to transmit a second probe request on a frequency channel of the wireless communication device;
• and
• a control circuit configured to switch the frequency channel to another frequency channel by selecting the another frequency channel in an orderly manner from a set of frequency channels of the wireless communication device,
• wherein:
• the control circuit is further configured to randomize at least one of a duration for transmitting the second probe request and a duration for receiving the first probe request, and
• the transmission circuit is further configured to transmit the second probe request on the another frequency channel after the control circuit switches the frequency channel to the another the frequency channel.

A method of communication implemented in a wireless communication device, the method comprising:

• receiving a first probe request from another device;
• transmitting a second probe request on a frequency channel of the wireless communication device;
• switching the frequency channel to another frequency channel by selecting the another frequency channel in an orderly manner from a set of frequency channels of the wireless communication device;
• transmitting the second probe request on the another frequency channel after switching the frequency channel to the another the frequency channel;
• and
• randomizing at least one of a duration for transmitting the second probe request and a duration for receiving the first probe request.

A wireless communication device comprising:

• a reception circuit configured to receive a first probe request from another device;
• a transmission circuit configured to transmit a second probe request on a frequency channel of the wireless communication device;
• and
• a control circuit configured to switch the frequency channel to another frequency channel by selecting the another frequency channel in an orderly manner from a set of frequency channels of the wireless communication device,
• wherein the transmission circuit is further configured to transmit the second probe request on the another frequency channel after the control circuit switches the frequency channel to the another the frequency channel, and
• wherein the control circuit is further configured to:
• switch between a listen phase in which the control circuit waits for the first probe request, and a search phase in which the control circuit controls the transmission circuit to transmit the second probe request, and
• randomize a duration of the listen phase
