Internet Telephony with Interactive Information

A method for presenting a calling party with targeted information, the method comprising:

• transmitting, from a calling party device, a calling party number and a dialed number to an internet telephony service provider, the dialed number associated with a called party;
• receiving targeted information from the internet telephony service provider based on the calling party number and the dialed number, the targeted information transmitted from the internet telephony service provider based on called party discretion;
• and
• displaying the targeted information via the calling party device.

An apparatus for presenting a calling party with targeted information, the apparatus comprising:

• a display;
• a processor;
• and
• a memory to store computer program instructions, the computer program instructions when executed on the processor cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
• transmitting a calling party number and a dialed number to an internet telephony service provider, the dialed number associated with a called party;
• receiving targeted information from the internet telephony service provider based on the calling party number and the dialed number, the targeted information transmitted from the internet telephony service provider based on called party discretion;
• and
• displaying the targeted information via the display.
