Abstract

The method concerns the authentication of an electronic watch (1). The watch, which displays the time using hands (6, 7), includes one processing and control circuit having a time base, and a means of storing personal data and/or identification data of a brand and/or serial number. For the authentication method, at least one activation member (4, 4′), which is connected to the processing and control circuit, is activated to change into authentication mode. Once the activation member has been enabled, an indicator device, which includes time indicating hands, visually indicates watch authentication information. The hands are moved on the watch dial (5) to indicate each successive digit or number of the identification code to be checked to authenticate said watch. The hands can describe a particular trajectory on the dial to authenticate the electronic watch.
