## Abstract

Various features and processes related to document collaboration are disclosed. In some implementations, animations are presented when updating a local document display to reflect changes made to the document at a remote device. In some implementations, a user can selectively highlight changes made by collaborators in a document. In some implementations, a user can select an identifier associated with another user to display a portion of a document that includes the other user's cursor location. In some implementations, text in document chat sessions can be automatically converted into hyperlinks which, when selected, cause a document editor to perform an operation.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method comprising:
displaying a document on first device;
receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device;
receiving a second input at the first device; and
in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.

### Claim 4

A method comprising:
displaying a document on a first device;
displaying users who are currently accessing the document;
receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and
in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.

### Claim 6

A non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on first device;
receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device;
receiving a second input at the first device; and
in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The computer-readable medium of claim 6, wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The computer-readable medium of claim 6, wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.

### Claim 9

A non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on a first device;
displaying users who are currently accessing the document;
receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and
in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The computer-readable medium of claim 9, wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.

### Claim 11

A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on first device;
receiving information describing a cursor location within the document, the cursor location associated with a first input provided at a second device;
receiving a second input at the first device; and
in response to the second input, modifying the display of the document at the first device to present a portion of the document that includes the cursor location.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein the document is stored on a third device that is not the first device and is not the second device.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The system of claim 11, wherein the cursor location corresponds to a location within the document that is being edited at the second device.

### Claim 14

A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes:
displaying a document on a first device;
displaying users who are currently accessing the document;
receiving a selection of at least one of the users; and
in response to receiving the selection, modifying the display of the document to present a portion of the document that includes a location of a cursor corresponding to the selected user.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The system of claim 14, wherein the location of the cursor corresponds to input provided by the selected user at a second device.
