## Abstract

Various features and processes related to document collaboration are disclosed. In some implementations, animations are presented when updating a local document display to reflect changes made to the document at a remote device. In some implementations, a user can selectively highlight changes made by collaborators in a document. In some implementations, a user can select an identifier associated with another user to display a portion of a document that includes the other user's cursor location. In some implementations, text in document chat sessions can be automatically converted into hyperlinks which, when selected, cause a document editor to perform an operation.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method comprising:
presenting a document in a document editor on a computing device;
receiving a text message at the document editor;
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor; and
converting the word into a hyperlink which when selected causes execution of the document editor function; and
presenting the text message and the hyperlink.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
receiving a selection of the hyperlink; and
executing the document editor function.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a particular portion of the document.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a document editing tool.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the function causes a webpage to be displayed in a browser.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
comparing the text message to one or more keywords that are associated with document editor functions; and
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor based on the comparison.

### Claim 7

A non-transitory computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, causes:
presenting a document in a document editor on a computing device;
receiving a text message at the document editor;
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor; and
converting the word into a hyperlink which when selected causes execution of the document editor function; and
presenting the text message and the hyperlink.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the instructions cause:
receiving a selection of the hyperlink; and
executing the document editor function.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a particular portion of the document.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a document editing tool.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the function causes a webpage to be displayed in a browser.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the instructions cause:
comparing the text message to one or more keywords that are associated with document editor functions; and
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor based on the comparison.

### Claim 13

A system comprising:
one or more processors; and
a computer-readable medium including one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by the one or more processors, causes:
presenting a document in a document editor on a computing device;
receiving a text message at the document editor;
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor; and
converting the word into a hyperlink which when selected causes execution of the document editor function; and
presenting the text message and the hyperlink.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions cause:
receiving a selection of the hyperlink; and
executing the document editor function.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a particular page of the document.

### Claim 16 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the function causes the document editor to display a document editing tool.

### Claim 17 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the function causes a webpage to be displayed in a browser.

### Claim 18 (depends on 13)

The system of claim 13, wherein the instructions cause:
comparing the text message to one or more keywords that are associated with document editor functions; and
determining that the text message includes a word associated with a function of the document editor based on the comparison.
