The method may include receiving, by a server, identification of a user. The server may identify a plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on velocity of clicks to content containing, related to or associated with the plurality of phrases. The server may identify trending or temporally popular phrases based on aggregating multiple users' interactions with an aggregate of content. The server may determine a relevance score for each phrase of the plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on identification of the user and actions of the user on content associated with each phrase, such as user clicking on content identifying or related to each phrase. The server may identify one or more phrases of the plurality of phrases based on relevance score. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method for identifying phrases trending and relevant to a user, the method comprising: (a) receiving, by a server, identification of a user; (b) identifying, by the server, a plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on velocity of clicks to content comprising the plurality of phrases; (c) determining, by the server, a relevance score for each phrase of the plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on identification of the user and actions of the user on content comprising each phrase; and (d) identifying, by the server, one or more phrases of the plurality of phrases based on relevance score. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (a) further comprises receiving, by the server, identification of the user via a cookie. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (b) further comprises identifying, by the server, the plurality of phrases that are trending upwards above a predetermined threshold. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (b) further comprises identifying, by the server, an enumerated list of the plurality of phrases based on trending from highest to lowest. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (c) further comprises determining, by the server, the relevance score for each phrases based on a plurality of actions of the user to click on a link to content comprising each phrase. ### Claim 6 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (c) further comprises determining, by the server, the relevance score for each phrase based on a plurality of actions of the user to share content comprising each phrase. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (d) further comprises selecting, by the server, the one or more phrases with the highest relevance score. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (d) further comprises selecting, by the server, the one or more phrases with a relevance score greater than a predetermined threshold. ### Claim 9 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein step (d) further comprises selecting, by the server, the one or more phrases with a relevance score greater than a first predetermined threshold and that are trending within a second predetermined threshold. ### Claim 10 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, further comprising selecting content to serve the user based on the identified one or more phrases. ### Claim 11 A system for identifying phrases trending and relevant to a user, the system comprising: a server receiving identification of a user; a trending engine identifying a plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on velocity of clicks to content comprising the plurality of phrases; a relevance scorer determining for each phrase of the plurality of phrases that are trending upwards based on identification of the user and actions of the user on content comprising each phrase; and wherein the server identifies one or more phrases of the plurality of phrases based on relevance score. ### Claim 12 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the server receives identification of the user via a cookie. ### Claim 13 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the trending engine identifies the plurality of phrases that are trending upwards above a predetermined threshold. ### Claim 14 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the trending engine identifies an enumerated list of the plurality of phrases based on trending from highest to lowest. ### Claim 15 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the relevance scorer determines the relevance score for each phrase based on a plurality of actions of the user to click on a link to content comprising each phrase. ### Claim 16 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the relevance scorer determines the relevance score for each phrase based on a plurality of actions of the user to share content comprising each phrase. ### Claim 17 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the server selects the identified one or more phrases with the highest relevance score. ### Claim 18 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the server selects the identified one or more phrases with a relevance score greater than a predetermined threshold. ### Claim 19 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein the server selects the identified one or more phrases with a relevance score greater than a first predetermined threshold and that are trending within a second predetermined threshold. ### Claim 20 (depends on 11) The system of claim 11, wherein one of the server or a second server selects content to serve the user based on the identified one or more phrases.
