## Abstract

A light emitting diode assembly and method of manufacturing the same. The light emitting diode assembly has a heat sink. The assembly additionally has a platform assembly with a substrate having driving elements including a plurality of light emitting diode elements disposed thereon. The driving elements and light emitting diode elements are in electric communication with an AC input to produce an initial light output. The plurality of light emitting diodes emit an initial light output that is a first predetermined amount of lumens in a first lumen range and emit an initial light output that is a second predetermined amount of lumens in a second lumen range current is changed without the need to change the manufacturing process.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of manufacturing light emitting diode lighting assemblies having different initial light outputs steps comprising:
manufacturing a first heat sink using a manufacturing process;
forming a first platform assembly having a plurality of light emitting diode lighting elements with an automated device;
during the step of forming a first platform assembly selecting with the automated device a first predetermined lumen output;
manufacturing a second heat sink using the same manufacturing process as used to manufacture the first heat sink;
inputting information into the automated device;
forming a second platform assembly having a plurality of light emitting diode lighting elements with the automated device;
during the step of forming the second platform assembly selecting with the automated device a second predetermined lumen output based on the information inputted into the automated device.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein the first initial light output is at least 450 lumens.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2 wherein the second initial light output is at least 800 lumens.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein the first initial light output is at least 800 lumens.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4 wherein the second initial light output is at least 1100 lumens.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method claim 1 wherein the first initial light output is at least 1100 lumens.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6 wherein the second initial light output is at least 1600 lumens.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein the light emitting diode elements are light emitting diode dies.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 further comprising the steps of:
selecting a first top lens section and a first bottom lens section;
securing the first top lens section and first bottom lens section together to form a first bulb;
attaching the first bulb to the first heat sink to form a first light emitting diode lighting assembly having a first lamp type;
wherein the first lamp type of the light emitting diode lighting assembly is based on the selection of the first top lens section and first bottom lens section;
selecting a second top lens section and a second bottom lens section;
securing the second top lens section and second bottom lens section together to form a second bulb;
attaching the second bulb to the second heat sink to form a second light emitting diode lighting assembly having a second lamp type;
wherein the second lamp type of the light emitting diode lighting assembly is based on the selection of the second top lens section and second bottom lens section; and
wherein the first lamp type and second lamp type are different lamp types.
