A notification setting processing section of a document storage notification application sets a protocol for accessing the stored document data from a computer via a network. When document data is stored in a HDD, a mail transmission processing section notifies the computer of storage location information on the document data for accessing the data according to the set protocol. If the set protocol is changed before the storage location information is notified to the computer, a control section causes the mail transmission processing section to notify the computer of storage location information for causing the document data to be accessed using the changed protocol. ## Claims ### Claim 1 An information processing apparatus: a storage unit; a registration unit configured to register a notification condition for notifying that a document has been stored in said storage unit; a notification unit configured to notify, when a document is stored in said storage unit according to the notification condition registered by said registration unit, a destination of information indicative of a storage location of the stored document; a setting unit configured to set one of file sharing protocols supported by the information processing apparatus; a control unit configured to control said notification unit to notify, in the case where said setting unit sets a first file sharing protocol as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with protocol rules for the set first file sharing protocol, while notifying, in the case where said setting unit sets a second file sharing protocol as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with protocol rules for the set second file sharing protocol. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the first file sharing protocol is WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning) protocol. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second file sharing protocol is SMB (Server Message Block) protocol. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the information is a folder name. ### Claim 5 (depends on 4) The information processing apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said notification unit notifies the destination of a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) including the folder name and a file name of the stored document. ### Claim 6 (depends on 5) The information processing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said notification unit notifies the destination of an e-mail including the URI in a body part. ### Claim 7 (depends on 6) The information processing apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the e-mail further includes a message indicating that a new document has been stored in said storage unit in the body part. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a determination unit configured to determine within a preliminarily determined time period, whether or not at least one document has been stored in said storage unit according to the notification condition registered by said registration unit, wherein said notification unit notifies, in the case where it is determined by said determination unit that a plurality of documents have been stored in said storage unit, the destination of an e-mail including information indicative of each storage location of the plurality of documents. ### Claim 9 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a scanning unit configured to scan an original to generate an image data; wherein said storage unit stores the image data generated by said scanning unit as the document. ### Claim 10 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a printing unit configured to print the document stored in said storage unit. ### Claim 11 (depends on 1) The information processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said registration unit registers the destination linked to the notification condition, and wherein said notification unit notifies the destination linked to the notification condition of the information, in the case where the document is stored in said storage unit according to the notification condition registered by said registration unit. ### Claim 12 A method of controlling an information processing apparatus having a storage unit, the method comprising the steps of: registering a notification condition for notifying that a document has been stored in the storage unit; notifying, when a document is stored in the storage unit according to the registered notification condition, a destination of information indicative of a storage location of the stored document; setting one of file sharing protocols supported by the information processing apparatus; controlling to notify, in the case where a first file sharing protocol is set as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with the protocol rules for the set first file sharing protocol; controlling to notify, in the case where a second file sharing protocol is set as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with the protocol rules for the set second file sharing protocol. ### Claim 13 A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a computer-executable program for causing an information processing apparatus having a storage unit to execute a control method, the control method comprising: registering a notification condition for notifying that a document has been stored in the storage unit; notifying, when a document is stored in the storage unit according to the registered notification condition, a destination of information indicative of a storage location of the stored document; setting one of file sharing protocols supported by the information processing apparatus; controlling to notify, in the case where a first file sharing protocol is set as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with the protocol rules for the set first file sharing protocol; controlling to notify, in the case where a second file sharing protocol is set as the one of the file sharing protocols, the destination of the information indicative of the storage location in a manner consistent with the protocol rules for the set second file sharing protocol.
