## Abstract

A system and method of analyzing a plurality of video signals received concurrently from a plurality of video cameras includes receiving a plurality of video signals captured from a plurality of respective video cameras, each video signal received over a respective camera channel; multiplexing the plurality of video signals to output a multiplexed video signal including frames from each of the captured video signals; performing automated video content analysis on the multiplexed video signal, including performing automated video content analysis for at least two of the camera channels.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method of analyzing a plurality of video signals received concurrently from a plurality of video cameras, the method comprising:
receiving a plurality of video signals captured from a plurality of respective video cameras, each video signal received over a respective camera channel;
multiplexing the plurality of video signals to output a multiplexed video signal including frames from each of the captured video signals;
performing automated video content analysis on the multiplexed video signal, including performing automated video content analysis for at least two of the camera channels.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the multiplexing includes one or more of: time division multiplexing, and spatial multiplexing.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the multiplexing includes spatial multiplexing, wherein individual frames of different signals of the captured video signals are combined with individual frames of other signals of the captured video signals to form tiled frames.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The method of claim 3, wherein performing the automated video content analysis includes performing automated video content analysis on the tiled frames.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein performing the automated video content analysis on the tiled frames includes performing simultaneous video content analysis on at least two tiles of the tiled frames.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the multiplexing includes time division multiplexing.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
performing the video content analysis for the at least two of the camera channels based on a pre-determined order of receiving the frames of the captured video signals.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
performing the video content analysis for the at least two of the camera channels based on a channel identifier associated with the frames of the captured video signals.

### Claim 9

A method of analyzing a plurality of video signals received concurrently from a plurality of video cameras, the method comprising:
receiving a plurality of video signals captured from a plurality of respective video cameras, each video signal received over a respective camera channel and including a plurality of video frames organized in a first manner;
reorganizing the plurality of frames of the plurality of received video signals, to form an output signal, the output signal including a subset of frames including a plurality of frames from each of the captured video signals;
performing automated video content analysis on the output signal, including performing video content analysis for at least two of the camera channels.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein reorganizing includes organizing the plurality of frames into tiled frames.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein each tiled frame includes a plurality of tiles that respectively correspond to the plurality of camera channels.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, wherein performing the automated video content analysis includes performing automated video content analysis on the tiled frames.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12, wherein performing the automated video content analysis on the tiled frames includes performing simultaneous video content analysis on at least two tiles of the tiled frames.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The method of claim 10, wherein the reorganizing further includes time division multiplexing.

### Claim 15 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the reorganizing includes time division multiplexing, and wherein:
the number of received video signals is N;
each received video signal has a frame rate of P frames per second; and
the output signal has a frame rate smaller than N×P.

### Claim 16 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, further comprising, automatically generating analytics data based on the video content analysis, and automatically detecting events based on the analytics data.

### Claim 17 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, further comprising performing the automated video content analysis on the output signal by performing video content analysis for a first camera channel using first calibration settings associated with the first camera, and performing video content analysis for a second camera channel using second calibration settings associated with the second camera.

### Claim 18

A system comprising:
a first module configured to:
receive a plurality of first video signals captured from a plurality of respective video cameras, each first video signal received over a respective camera channel and including a plurality of video frames organized in a first manner;
reorganize the plurality of frames of the plurality of first received video signals; and
output a second video signal including a set of frames including a plurality of frames from each of the captured video signals, the frames organized based on the reorganizing step; and
a second module configured to:
receive the second video signal; and
perform automated video content analysis on the second video signal, including performing video content analysis for at least two of the camera channels.

### Claim 19 (depends on 18)

The system of claim 18, wherein the first module includes a multiplexer and the second module includes a video content analysis processor.
