## Abstract

A cooking apparatus includes a cooking vessel, a support structure, an assortment of ferrous members and a source of electro-magnetic radiation. The ferrous members are mounted on the support structure along with food. The source of electro-magnetic radiation heats the ferrous members and enables a previously unobtainable level of precision and control in the preparation of food.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An induction cooking apparatus comprising:
a cooking vessel;
a support structure disposed in said cooking vessel;
a plurality of ferrous members removably mounted on said support structures and;
a source of electro-magnetic radiation whereby operation of said source of electro-magnetic radiation causes heating of said ferrous members.

### Claim 2

A method for induction cooking comprising the following steps:
placing a plurality of ferrous member in proximity to food;
subjecting the ferrous member and the food to electro-magnetic radiation, thereby enabling the electro-magnetic energy to heat the ferrous member and allowing the heated ferrous member to transfer heat to the food.

### Claim 3

A method for induction cooking comprising the following steps:
inserting at least one ferrous member into food;
subjecting the at least one ferrous member and the food to electro-magnetic radiation thereby enabling the electro-magnetic energy to heat the at least one ferrous member by induction and allowing the heated ferrous member to transfer heat to the food.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said support structure comprises:
a base;
a central pole projecting from said base and;
a plurality of branches each projecting from said central pole.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said ferrous members each have a regular geometrical shape.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said ferrous members have an irregular geometrical shape.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein each of said ferrous members have an aperture for mounting said ferrous members on said branches.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein at least two of said ferrous members further comprise:
an interlocking interface for mutually connecting said at least two ferrous members.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 further comprising:
a pail with said pail mounted on one of said branches.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said cooking vessel comprises:
a side wall and a bottom wall with said sidewall and said bottom wall made of a non ferrous material

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said cooking vessel comprises:
a side wall and a bottom wall with said sidewall made of a non ferrous material and with said bottom wall made of a ferrous material

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

The induction cooking apparatus as claimed in claim 1 wherein said cooking vessel comprises:
a side wall having an outer surface and further comprising:
a plurality of sources of electro-magnetic radiation mounted on said outer surface of said side wall.
