## Abstract

A device for heating or cooling material, having at least one first conductive portion sized to be inserted into the material; and at least one second conductive portion conductively attached to the first portion. the second portion is sized to absorb and conduct heat or cooling from a source proximate the second portion into the first portion. The first portion heats or cools the interior of the material.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device for heating or cooling material, comprising:
at least one conductive first portion sized to be inserted into the material; and
at least one conductive second portion conductively attached to the first portion, the second portion being sized to absorb and conduct heat or cooling from a source proximate the second portion into the first portion, whereby the first portion heats or cools the interior of the material.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the first and second portions are made from a thermally conductive material selected from copper, aluminum, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and alloys of mixtures of copper and aluminum.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the first portion includes at least two conductive portions forming the ends of the second portion.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The device of claim 3, wherein the at least two first portions are rods.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The device of claim 3, wherein the at least two first portions are coils.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the at least one second portion is shaped in a coil shape and the at least one first portion is at one end of the coil.

### Claim 7

A device for heating or cooling material, comprising:
at least two first conductive portions sized to be inserted into the material; and
a second conductive portion conductively attached to the two first portion at the ends thereof, the second portion being sized to absorb and conduct heat or cooling from a source proximate the second portion into the two first portion, whereby the two first portions heats or cools the interior of the material.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The device of claim 7, wherein the first and second portions are made from a thermally conductive material selected from copper, aluminum, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and alloys of mixtures of copper and aluminum.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The device of claim 7, wherein the at least one second portion is shaped in a coil shape and the at least two first portions are each end of the coil.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The device of claim 7, wherein the two first portions are rods.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The device of claim 10, wherein the rods end in a point.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The device of claim 7, wherein the two first portions are coils.

### Claim 13 (depends on 7)

The device of claim 7, wherein the material is a food mixture to be heated.

### Claim 14

A method for heating or cooling material, comprising the steps of:
forming a device having at least one first conductive portion sized to be inserted into the material;
forming at least one second conductive portion conductively attached to the first portion, the second portion being sized to absorb and conduct heat or cooling from a source proximate the second portion into the first portion, whereby the first portion heats or cools the interior of the material;
inserting the at least one first portion into a material; and
subjecting the second portion to heat or cooling as desired.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein the first and second portions are made from a thermally conductive material selected from copper, aluminum, copper alloys, aluminum alloys and alloys of mixtures of copper and aluminum.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein the first portion includes at least two conductive portions forming the ends of the second portion.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the at least two first portions are rods.

### Claim 18 (depends on 16)

The method of claim 16, wherein the at least two first portions are coils.

### Claim 19 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, wherein the at least one second portion is shaped in a coil shape and the at least two first portion are at the ends of the coil.

### Claim 20 (depends on 14)

The device of claim 14, wherein the material is a food mixture to be heated.
