## Abstract

A heat exchanger comprising substantially square (rectangle) conduits featuring a screw like turbulator designed for square conduits. The tubes are designed for reclaiming heat from waste fluids. The tubes are substantially parallel to the flow direction of the waste fluid, thus resulting in a simple and cost effective construction.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A heat exchanger apparatus comprising:
a. a conduit for a first fluid therealong; and
b. said conduit substantially square.
c. a means for increasing the heat transfer characteristics of said first fluid contained within said first conduit.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The apparatus, according to claim 1, in which said means comprises a core with at least one extending member which induces a helical flow within said conduit.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The apparatus, according to claim 1, in which said means comprises a folded fin that creates multiple smaller channels within said first conduit.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The apparatus, according to claim 1, in which said means can be made from injection molded plastic.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The apparatus, according to claim 1, in which the first fluid is water.

### Claim 6

A heat exchanger apparatus comprising:
a. a first conduit for carrying drain fluids
b. at least one second conduit for carrying a second fluid.
c. said second conduit substantially parallel to said first conduit.
d. Said second conduit of a shape such that a portion of its outer surface is in direct contact with the outer surface of said first conduit.
e. a means for increasing the heat transfer characteristics of said second fluid contained within said second conduit.

### Claim 7 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which said second conduit is substantially square.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which said second conduit comprises a substantially square tube which has been modified on one side with a curve to match said first conduit.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which said means comprises a core and at least one extending member which induces a helical flow in said second conduit.

### Claim 10 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which said means comprises a folded fin that creates multiple smaller channels within said first conduit.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which said means can be made from injection molded plastic.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The apparatus, according to claim 7, in which the first fluid is waste water.
