## Abstract

In a device to clean a component of deposits, at least one first nozzle unit is positioned to spray a fluid at an angle onto a surface of the component that is to be cleaned, the first nozzle unit being provided opposite a border region of the surface of the component that is to be cleaned. At least one second nozzle unit generates a flow of a gaseous medium over the surface to be cleaned and is provided adjacent to edge of the border region of the surface of the component that is to be cleaned.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device to clean a component of deposits, comprising:
at least one first nozzle unit positioned to spray a fluid at an angle onto a surface of the component that is to be cleaned and which is provided opposite a border region of the surface of said component that is to be cleaned; and
at least one second nozzle unit that generates a flow of a gaseous medium over the surface to be cleaned and which is provided adjacent to an edge of the border region of the surface of the component that is to be cleaned.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device according to claim 1 wherein the flow from the gaseous medium with a mixture of fluid and deposits removed from the surface to be cleaned strikes a capture unit arranged after the surface to be cleaned as viewed in a flow direction of the gaseous medium.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The device according to claim 2 in which the capture unit has a perforated plate at which the mixture strikes, and the perforated plate having holes of such a size that at least a portion of the mixture passes through the holes.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The device according to claim 3 in which the perforated plate is used in a deflection plate with which the perforated plate forms a container at which the mixture portion strikes passing through the perforated plate.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The device according to claim 4 in which the container has at at least one end at least one first strip curved at a distance from the perforated plate, said first strip being designed such that portions of said mixture rebounding from the perforated plate strike the strips.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The device according to claim 5 in which a second, more narrow strip is provided adjacent and parallel to the first strip, said second strip partially overlapping the first strip and being designed such that mixture portions rebounding from the first strip strike the second strip.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The device according to claim 1 in which the first nozzle unit is arranged relative to the surface to be cleaned such that the fluid strikes the surface to be cleaned at an angle if 90°.

### Claim 8

A method to clean a component of deposits, comprising the steps of:
providing at least one first nozzle unit positioned to spray a fluid at an angle onto a surface of the component that is to be cleaned and which is provided opposite of a border region of the surface of said component that is to be cleaned;
providing at least one second nozzle unit that generates a flow of a gaseous medium over the surface to be cleaned and which is provided adjacent to an edge of the border region of the surface of the component that is to be cleaned;
with the first nozzle unit spraying said fluid at said angle onto said border region;
generating said flow of said gaseous medium over said surface to be cleaned with said second nozzle unit; and
adjusting and directing said flow of the gaseous medium generated by the second nozzle unit such that the fluid is distributed only over the surface to be cleaned during a cleaning interval.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The method according to claim 8 in which:
the first nozzle unit is deactivated in a drying interval following the cleaning interval; and
the flow of the gaseous medium that is generated by the second nozzle unit is adjusted and directed such that the mixture of the fluid and the deposits loosened at the surface to be cleaned is removed from said surface to be cleaned, and the surface to be cleaned is dried

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method according to claim 9 in which a strength of the flow of the gaseous medium with which the fluid is distributed over the surface to be cleaned is set different than a strength of the flow of the gaseous medium with which the removal of the mixture from the surface to be cleaned and a strength of the flow of the gaseous medium for the drying of the surface to be cleaned.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The method according to claim 8 in which the second nozzle unit is activated and deactivated clock period by clock period in the cleaning interval.
