## Abstract

An aspect of the present invention relates to a method of modifying a surface of a powder, comprising mixing a powder with a compound denoted by general formula (I): wherein, in general formula (I), each of R10 and R13 independently denotes a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, or aryl group, each of R11 and R12 independently denotes an alkyl group or an aryl group, and L denotes a single bond or an oxygen atom.

### Claim 1

A method of modifying a surface of a powder, comprising mixing a powder with a compound denoted by general formula (I):
wherein, in general formula (I), each of R10 and R13 independently denotes a hydrogen atom, alkyl group, or aryl group, each of R11 and R12 independently denotes an alkyl group or an aryl group, and L denotes a single bond or an oxygen atom, and wherein the powder is a nonmagnetic powder.

The method of modifying a surface of a powder according to claim 1, wherein the nonmagnetic powder is comprised in a nonmagnetic coating material.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of modifying a surface of a powder according to claim 2, wherein the surface of the nonmagnetic powder is modified to improve dispersibility of the nonmagnetic powder in the nonmagnetic coating material.
