## Abstract

A receptacle of a hand washing station includes a heat exchanger having an external surface for thermally contacting a relatively hot fluid and an internal surface for thermally contacting a relatively cold fluid. The external surface of the heat exchanger forms at least part of the external surface of the receptacle.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A hand washing station comprising a receptacle having a drain, the receptacle comprising a heat exchanger having an external surface for thermally contacting a fluid at a first temperature and an internal surface for thermally contacting a fluid at a second temperature, the external surface of the heat exchanger forming at least part of the external surface of the receptacle.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 1, wherein the external surface of the heat exchanger forms at least part of a convex external surface of the receptacle.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 1, wherein the external surface of the heat exchanger forms at least part of an external surface of the receptacle which has a substantially spherical curvature.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 1, wherein the heat exchanger forms at least part of an external side wall of the receptacle.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 1, wherein the heat exchanger forms at least part of an external base of the receptacle.

### Claim 6 (depends on 5)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 5, wherein the heat exchanger forms part of a raised section of the base.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 6, wherein the raised section of the base is convex in shape.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6, 7)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 6 or claim 7, wherein the raised section has a substantially spherical curvature.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 1, wherein the receptacle comprises a fluid conveying system arranged to convey a flow of fluid adjacent to the internal surface of the heat exchanger.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 9, wherein the fluid conveying system is disposed internally opposite said at least part of the external surface of the receptacle.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9, 10)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 9 or claim 10, wherein the fluid conveying system comprises a jacket delimited at least in part by the internal surface of the heat exchanger.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 11, wherein the jacket comprises at least one fluid inlet port.

### Claim 13 (depends on 11)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 11, wherein the jacket comprises a fluid outlet port.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 13, wherein the jacket has a domed section, and the fluid outlet port is located at an apex of the domed section of the jacket.

### Claim 15 (depends on 9)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 9, comprising an outlet conduit for receiving fluid from the fluid conveying system.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The hand washing station as claimed in claim 15, comprising a heater for heating fluid located within the outlet conduit.
