Rolling method for the production of flat products, such as metal strip, which provides a production step of a thin slab with a thickness comprised between 30 and 90 mm, preferably between 35 and 70 mm, a temperature maintenance and/or possible heating step of the slab to be sent for rolling, and a rolling step with multiple passes performed in a reversing rolling mill (14) comprising at least a reversing rolling stand (15), in which at least a winding reel furnace (16a) is also present upstream of the stand (15) and a winding reel furnace (16b) downstream of the stand (15), a winding step also being provided downstream of the rolling in at least a coiler (19a, 19b) to form a relative coil of strip of a defined weight, comprised between 20 and 30 tons, and a cooling step of the strip being provided between the reversing rolling mill (14) and said at least one coiler (19a, 19b). The method provides that the thin slab is disposed, for example, sheared to size, upstream of the maintenance and/or possible heating step in order to form a segment of slab having a length equivalent, in weight, greater than that of a coil, and that, already after the first rolling pass in the reversing rolling mill (14), the thickness of the segment of slab is reduced to a value in the range of 20-25 mm so as to render it windable on the reel furnace (16b) downstream of the stand (15).

A rolling method for the production of flat products, such as metal strip, which provides a production step of a thin slab with a thickness comprised between 30 and 90 mm, preferably between 35 and 70 mm, a temperature maintenance and/or possible heating step of the slab to be sent for rolling, and a rolling step with multiple passes performed in a reversing rolling mill comprising at least a reversing rolling stand, in which at least a winding reel furnace (16a) is also present upstream of the stand and a winding reel furnace downstream of the stand, a winding step also being provided downstream of the rolling in at least a coiler to form a relative coil of strip of a defined weight, comprised between 20 and 30 tons, and a cooling step of the strip being provided between the reversing rolling mill and said at least one coiler, wherein the method provides that the thin slab is disposed, for example, sheared to size, upstream of the maintenance and/or possible heating step in order to form a segment of slab having a length equivalent, in weight, equal to a finite multiple greater than 1 of the weight of a coil, wherein, already after the first rolling pass in the reversing rolling mill, the thickness of the segment of slab is reduced to a value in the range of 20-25 mm so as to wind it immediately on the reel furnace downstream of the stand, in that in the last rolling pass in the reversing rolling mill is defined the final thickness of the strip, and in that during a large part of the last pass the strip is simultaneously gripped on said reel furnace, on the rolling stand of the reversing rolling mill and on one relative of said coilers, realizing a process without solution of continuity for the whole length relative to the formation of at least 2 coils of finished strip.
A rolling line for the production of flat products such as metal strip, with a minimum thickness of at least 1.0 to 2.0 mm, starting from a thin slab with a thickness comprised between 30 and 90 mm, preferably between 35 and 70 mm, said line comprising a possible heating and/or temperature maintenance furnace of the thin slab to be sent for rolling, and a reversing rolling mill comprising at least a reversing rolling stand, in which there is also at least a winding reel furnace upstream of the stand and a winding reel furnace downstream of the stand, at least a coiler also being provided downstream of the rolling mill, to form a relative coil of strip of defined weight, comprised between 20 and 30 tons, a cooling system being provided between said reversing rolling mill and said at least one coiler, wherein said maintenance and/or possible heating furnace has a length able to completely contain a segment of slab having a length equivalent, in weight, equal to a finite multiple greater than 1 of the weight of a coil in weight, wherein the length of the slab exiting from the first rolling pass performed by the reversing rolling mill is greater than the distance between the exit of the last or only stand and the drawing device of said at least one coiler, and in that the distance between the reel furnace upstream the rolling stand of the reversing rolling mill and one or the other of said drawing devices of said coilers is sized to be lower than the length of the strip in the last rolling pass so that the strip is simultaneously gripped on said reel furnace, on said rolling stand and on one relative of said coilers.
