Abstract
A system and method for providing a comprehensive security solution for databases through a reverse proxy, optionally featuring translating database queries across a plurality of different database platforms.
Claims8
A method for providing security in a system having a plurality of databases and a plurality of accessing applications, the method comprising:
- providing a reverse proxy for handling requests between the accessing applications and the databases;
- sending a request from said accessing application to said reverse proxy;
- analyzing said request by said reverse proxy to determine whether said request is acceptable according to at least one policy and to determine an address of a database for receiving said request;
- and
- if said request is acceptable, passing said request to said address of said database by said reverse proxy.
