Display Device

A display device comprising:

• a substrate having a display portion and a peripheral portion surrounding the display portion;
• and
• a plurality of pixels formed in the display portion;
• wherein the plurality of pixels have a switching element, a pixel electrode connected to the switching element, a counter electrode, and a light emitting material layer arranged between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode, respectively;
• wherein the counter electrode is arranged in common for the display portion;
• wherein a bank layer of organic material which is arranged between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode is formed in the display portion and the peripheral portion;
• wherein each pixel is divided by the bank layer of organic material in the display portion;
• and
• wherein the bank layer of organic material has at least one opening in the peripheral portion.
