Abstract
An air conditioner may include a plurality of indoor units and a plurality of outdoor units connected to the plurality of indoor units. Each of the plurality of outdoor units may include a plurality of outdoor heat exchangers. Each of the outdoor heat exchangers may include a plurality of heat exchanger parts. When a defrosting operation condition is satisfied during a heating operation, indicating that a defrosting operation should be performed the plurality of heat exchanger parts of the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers may successively perform the defrosting operation.
Claims20
An air conditioner, comprising:
- a plurality of indoor units;
- a plurality of outdoor units connected to the plurality of indoor units, each of the plurality of outdoor units respectively comprising a plurality of outdoor heat exchangers, each of the outdoor heat exchangers respectively comprising a plurality of heat exchanger parts;
- and
- a controller configured to control operation of the plurality of indoor units and the plurality of outdoor units, wherein the controller is configured to control the plurality of heat exchanger parts of the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers to successively perform a defrosting operation.
An air conditioner, comprising:
- a plurality of indoor units, each comprising an indoor heat exchanger;
- a plurality of outdoor units connected to the plurality of indoor units, the plurality of outdoor units comprising a plurality of outdoor heat exchangers;
- and
- a controller configured to control the plurality of indoor units and the plurality of outdoor units, wherein the controller is configured to determine that a defrosting condition has been satisfied in one or more of the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers during a heating operation, and to control the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers such that, after a first predetermined section of a first outdoor heat exchanger of the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers completes a defrosting operation, a second predetermined section of the first outdoor heat exchanger initiates performance of the defrosting operation.
A method of controlling an air conditioner comprising a plurality of indoor units and a plurality of outdoor units connected to the plurality of indoor units, each of the plurality of outdoor units comprising a plurality of outdoor heat exchangers, each of the outdoor heat exchangers comprising a plurality of heat exchanger parts, the method comprising:
- performing a heating operation in the plurality of outdoor units;
- determining whether a defrosting operation condition is satisfied during the heating operation in one or more of the plurality of outdoor heat exchangers;
- and
- successively performing a defrosting operation in the plurality of heat exchanger parts of the one or more outdoor heat exchangers in which the defrosting operation condition is satisfied.
