Image forming apparatus, and control method thereof

An image forming apparatus comprising:

• a receiving unit configured to receive, through an input unit, a plurality of addresses for transmitting mail including a URL of a web page provided by the image forming apparatus;
• a registration unit configured to register the plurality of addresses;
• a notification unit configured to transmit the mail including the URL of the web page to the plurality of addresses registered by the registration unit;
• and
• a delivery unit configured to, in response to a download request from an external apparatus via the web page indicated by the URL, deliver to the external apparatus a setup file for the image forming apparatus registered in a storage region of the image forming apparatus,
• wherein, in response to the download request, the delivery unit is further configured to transmit to the external apparatus information about a screen on which a list of the addresses registered in the registration unit is displayed,
• wherein the registration unit is further configured to register an address newly input via the screen, and
• wherein, when the setup file is updated, the notification unit is further configured to transmit the mail to the address registered in the registration unit.

A method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• receiving, through an input unit, a plurality of addresses for transmitting mails including a URL of a web page provided by the image forming apparatus;
• transmitting the mail including the URL of the web page to the plurality of addresses;
• and
• delivering, in response to a download request from an external apparatus via the web page indicated by the URL, to the external apparatus a setup file of a device driver for the image forming apparatus registered in a storage region of the image forming apparatus,
• wherein the addresses are input using an address book previously stored in the image forming apparatus.

A method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• receiving, through an input unit, a plurality of addresses for transmitting mail including URL of a web page provided by the image forming apparatus;
• registering the plurality of addresses;
• transmitting the mail including the URL of the web page to the plurality of registered addresses;
• and
• delivering, in response to a download request from an external apparatus via the web page indicated by the URL, to the external apparatus a setup file for the image forming apparatus registered in a storage region of the image forming apparatus,
• wherein, in response to the download request, transmitting information about a screen on which a list of the registered addresses is displayed to the external apparatus,
• wherein an address newly input via the screen is registered, and
• wherein, when the setup file is updated, transmitting the mail to the registered address.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium on which is stored a computer program for making a computer execute a method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• receiving, through an input unit, a plurality of addresses for transmitting mail including URL of a web page provided by the image forming apparatus;
• transmitting the mail including the URL of the web page to the plurality of addresses;
• and
• delivering, in response to a download request from an external apparatus via the web page indicated by the URL, to the information processing apparatus a setup file of a device driver for the image forming apparatus registered in a storage region of the image forming apparatus,
• wherein the addresses are input using an address book previously stored in the image forming apparatus.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium on which is stored a computer program for making a computer execute a method for controlling an image forming apparatus, the method comprising:

• receiving, through an input unit, a plurality of addresses for transmitting mail including URL of a web page provided by the image forming apparatus;
• registering the plurality of addresses;
• transmitting the mail including the URL of the web page to the plurality of registered addresses;
• and
• delivering, in response to a download request from an external apparatus via the web page indicated by the URL, to the external apparatus a setup file for the image forming apparatus registered in a storage region of the image forming apparatus,
• wherein, in response to the download request, transmitting information about a screen on which a list of the registered addresses is displayed to the information processing apparatus,
• wherein an address newly input via the screen is registered, and
• wherein, when the setup file is updated, transmitting the mail to the registered address.
