Abstract
In one embodiment, a social networking system the social networking system filters content objects based upon the compatibility between the application and the detected device platform. In particular embodiments, content objects are only displayed on a particular platform if there exists an optimized version of the application generating the content object for the particular platform.

A method comprising, by one or more computing systems:
- receiving a connection from a user;
- determining the platform from which the users is connecting;
- based upon the determined platform, filtering one or more content objects for display to the user;
- and
- transmitting the filtered content to the user;
A non-transitory, computer-readable media comprising instructions operable, when executed by one or more computing systems, to:
- receive a connection from a user;
- determine the platform from which the users is connecting;
- based upon the determined platform, filter one or more content objects for display to the user;
- and
- transmit the filtered content to the user;
