Abstract
Embodiments of the invention include methods and compositions involving aldose reductase inhibitors for the treatment of inflammation, including uveitis and asthma.

A method of treating asthma comprising administering to a subject need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising an aldose reductase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of ALO-1567, AD-5467, NZ-314, M-16209, ranirestat (AS-3201), and WP-921, wherein the aldose reductase inhibitor is not being prescribed for treating diabetes.
