The invention relates to a non-invasive method for the early detection of stomach cancer, based on the identification of a biomarker. The biomarker corresponds to the methylated promoter region of the Reprimo gene.

A detection method for early detection of gastric cancer, CHARACTERIZED in that it is a non-invasive method comprising the stages of:
- a) obtaining human plasma samples;
- b) detecting the presence of specific markers for gastric cancer in plasma samples of stage a).
