A method of preparing a modified tissue matrix comprising:
- selecting an acellular dermal matrix;
- and
- contacting the acellular dermal matrix with an aqueous solution containing a cationic anti-microbial agent, wherein the agent stably binds to the acellular dermal matrix by passive adsorption,
- wherein the aqueous solution is non-denaturing and the anti-microbial agent comprises at least one of benzethonium chloride, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride, silver, poly-hexa-methylene biguanide hydrochloride, cationic peptides, chitosan, or quaternary ammonium compounds.

A modified tissue matrix prepared by a process comprising:
- selecting an acellular dermal matrix;
- and
- contacting the acellular dermal matrix with an aqueous solution containing a cationic anti-microbial agent, wherein the agent stably binds to the acellular dermal matrix by passive adsorption,
- wherein the aqueous solution is non-denaturing and the anti-microbial agent comprises at least one of benzethonium chloride, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride, silver, poly-hexa-methylene biguanide hydrochloride, cationic peptides, chitosan, or quaternary ammonium compounds.
1 more element
A modified tissue matrix comprising:
- an acellular porcine dermal matrix;
- and
- at least one cationic anti-microbial agent that has been stably bound to the acellular dermal matrix by passive adsorption,
- wherein the anti-microbial agent comprises at least one of benzethonium chloride, chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride, silver, poly-hexa-methylene biguanide hydrochloride, cationic peptides, chitosan, or quaternary ammonium compounds.
