Data Search Using Context Information

A non-transitory, machine-readable medium that stores instructions, which, when performed by a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:

• receiving a message from a client application;
• identifying a user that initiated the message;
• retrieving context information associated with the user;
• identifying business functional data associated with the context information;
• identifying a domain associated with the business functional data, the domain including a number of terms;
• selecting a term, from the number of terms, to include in a query;
• and
• conducting a search of a data source using the query.

A computing device comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• a memory in communication with the at least one processor, the memory being configured to store a message manager module, a semantic context module, a contextual network module, a text analyzer module, and a semantic dispatcher module that are executable by the at least one processor;
• the message manager module having instructions that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising receiving a message from a client application;
• the semantic context module having instructions that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising identifying a user that initiated the message and retrieving context information associated with the user;
• the contextual network module having instructions that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising identifying business functional data associated with the context information and identifying a domain associated with the business functional data, the domain including a number of terms;
• the text analyzer module having instructions that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising selecting a term, from the number of terms, to include in a query;
• and
• the semantic dispatcher module having instructions that when executed by the at least one processor, cause operations to be performed, the operations comprising conducting a search of a data source using the query.
