A computer-readable recording medium stores a program causing a computer to execute an information generating process comprising:

• tabulating an appearance frequency for each single character in an object file group in which character strings are described;
• identifying based on each appearance frequency tabulated for each single character, a rank in descending order up to a target appearance rate;
• detecting in an object file selected from the object file group, specific single characters among the identified ranks;
• and
• generating for each of the detected specific single characters, index information that indicates the presence/absence of the specific single characters in each object file among the object file group.

A computer-readable recording medium stores a program causing a computer to execute an information search process comprising:

• receiving input of a search character string;
• identifying an object file that includes the search character string, by referring to index information indicating for each object file among an object file group in which character strings are described, the presence/absence of specific designated words that are among designated words present in the object file group and among ranks in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the designated words;
• searching the identified object file for information related to the search character string;
• and
• outputting a search result.

A computer-readable recording medium stores a program causing a computer program to execute an information search process comprising:

• receiving input of a search character string;
• identifying an object file that includes each single character making up the search character string, by referring to index information that indicates for each object file among an object file group in which character strings are described, the presence/absence of designated single characters that are among single characters present in the object file group and among ranks in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the single characters;
• narrowing down identified object files to object files that include each single character making up the search character string;
• searching the object files that include each single character making up the search character string, for information related to the search character string;
• and
• outputting a search result.

An information generating apparatus comprising a processor configured to:

• tabulate an appearance frequency for each designated word in an object file group in which character strings are described;
• identify for each designated word and based on the appearance frequency tabulated for the designated word, a rank in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the designated words;
• detect in an object file selected from the object file group, specific designated words among the identified ranks;
• and
• generate for each of the detected specific designated words, index information that indicates the presence/absence of the specific designated word in each object file among the object file group.

An information search apparatus comprising a processor configured to:

• receive input of a search character string;
• identify an object file that includes the search character string, by referring to index information indicating for each object file among an object file group in which character strings are described, the presence/absence of specific designated words that are among designated words present in the object file group and among ranks in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the designated words;
• search the identified object file for information related to the search character string;
• and
• output a search result.

An information generating method executed by a computer, the information generating method comprising:

• tabulating an appearance frequency for each designated word in an object file group in which character strings are described;
• identifying for each designated word and based on the appearance frequency tabulated for the designated word, a rank in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the designated words;
• detecting in an object file selected from the object file group, specific designated words among the identified ranks;
• and
• generating for each of the detected specific designated words, index information that indicates the presence/absence of the specific designated word in each object file among the object file group.

An information search method executed by a computer, the information search method comprising:

• receiving input of a search character string;
• identifying an object file that includes the search character string, by referring to index information indicating for each object file among an object file group in which character strings are described, the presence/absence of specific designated words that are among designated words present in the object file group and among ranks in descending order up to a target appearance rate for the designated words;
• searching the identified object file for information related to the search character string;
• and
• outputting a search result.
