Interface-adaptive data exchange

An apparatus for sending data to a receiver device configured to receive data configured according to a first version of an data exchange interface, the apparatus comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• and
• a serializer component configured to be operated by the one or more computer processors to:
• obtain data, at least a portion of which is to be sent to the receiver device, the data generated according to a second version of the data exchange interface;
• identify one or more pieces of the data that can be understood by the receiver device based on the first version of the data exchange interface, wherein remaining unidentified one or ones of the data cannot be understood by the receiver device based on the first version of the data exchange interface;
• and
• remove the remaining unidentified one or ones of the data from the data to generate adapted data to send to the receiver device based on the first version of the data exchange interface.

A computer-implemented method for sending data to a receiving device configured to receive data configured according to a first version of an data exchange interface, the method comprising:

• obtaining data by a sending device, at least a portion of which is to be sent to the receiving device, the data generated according to a second version of the data exchange interface;
• identifying, by the sending device, one or more pieces of the data that can be understood by the receiving device based on the first version of the data exchange interface, wherein remaining unidentified one or ones of the data cannot be understood by the receiving device based on the first version of the data exchange interface;
• and
• removing, by the sending device, the remaining unidentified one or ones of the data from the data to generate adapted data to send to the receiving device based on the first version of the data exchange interface;
• and
• sending, by the sending device, the adapted data to the receiving device.
