Abstract
Pre-treatment composition and printing method using such pre-treatment composition are disclosed. A disclosed example of the pre-treatment composition includes a liquid vehicle, a polyvalent metal salt as fixing agent, and a latex resin having an acid number of less than 20.

A pre-treatment composition comprising :
- a. a liquid vehicle,
- b. a polyvalent metal salt as fixing agent,
- c. and a latex resin having an acid number of less than 20.
A method for printing durable images onto a recording medium, comprising:
- a. applying a pre-treatment composition onto said recording medium said pre-treatment composition comprising a liquid vehicle, a polyvalent metal salt as fixing agent, and a latex resin having an acid number of less than 20;
- b. applying an ink composition onto said recording medium, said ink composition comprising an aqueous liquid vehicle and a colorant, wherein the ink overprint said pre-treatment composition.
