Abstract
Aspects of the invention provide for improving a success rate of an engineering design change (ECO) for an integrated circuit. In one embodiment, aspects of the invention include a method for improving a success rate of an engineering design change (ECO) for an integrated circuit, including: identifying a plurality of spare latches within the integrated circuit; determining an input driver for each of the spare latches; and replacing each input driver with a programmable gate array, such that the programmable gate array is programmed to a functionality of the input driver.
Claims20
A method for improving a success rate of an engineering design change (ECO) for an integrated circuit, comprising:
- identifying a plurality of spare latches within the integrated circuit;
- determining an input driver for each of the spare latches;
- and
- replacing each input driver with a programmable gate array, such that the programmable gate array is programmed to a functionality of the input driver.
An integrated circuit, comprising:
- a plurality of spare latches within the integrated circuit;
- and
- a plurality of programmable gate arrays, each programmable gate array connected to a data port of each of the spare latches, wherein each programmable gate array is programmed to a desired functionality.
A design structure tangibly embodied in a machine readable medium for designing, manufacturing, or testing an integrated circuit, the design structure comprising:
- a plurality of spare latches within the integrated circuit;
- and
- a plurality of programmable gate arrays, each programmable gate array connected to a data port of each of the spare latches, wherein each programmable gate array is programmable to a desired functionality.
