Abstract
A capacitance sense device can include a plurality of sense electrodes; a nonconductive structure comprising first regions formed over the sense electrodes and second regions formed between first regions that are less compressible than the first regions; a conductive touch surface formed over the nonconductive structure; and a capacitance sense circuit coupled to at least the sense electrodes.
Claims20
A capacitance sense device, comprising:
- a plurality of sense electrodes;
- a nonconductive structure comprising first regions formed over the sense electrodes and second regions formed between first regions that are less compressible than the first regions;
- a conductive touch surface formed over the nonconductive structure;
- and
- a capacitance sense circuit coupled to at least the sense electrodes.

A capacitance sensing system, comprising:
- a conductive surface formed over a plurality of sense electrodes;
- and
- a capacitance sensing circuit configured to detect changes in capacitance between at least the conductive surface and each sense electrode in response to a sense object pressing the conductive surface above a sense electrode.
A method, comprising:
- in a first mode, detecting touches at locations on a conductive touch surface by sensing changes in capacitance between the touch surface and a plurality of sense electrodes formed below the locations on the touch surface.
