Method in turn-up of reeling of fiber webs and a turn-up device for a reel-up of fiber webs

A method of turn-up in the reeling of fiber webs in a reel-up, the method comprising the steps of:

• reeling up a fiber web with a reeling drum of the reel-up onto a parent roll;
• when the parent roll reaches a selected diameter size, changing reeling from the parent roll onto a new parent roll on a reeling shaft;
• wherein the fiber web defines a width between a first edge and a second edge;
• jet cutting the web along a cutting path from the first edge to the second edge, to define a whole cutting path length, a beginning part of the cutting path starting at the first edge, and an end of the cutting path ending at the second edge;
• wherein the whole cutting path length is comprised of a main cutting path which is essentially linear and at least one edge area cutting path formed by turning a cutting arm and a nozzle mounted thereon around a pivot point to from a cutting path deviating from the essentially linear main cutting path, and wherein the length of the main cutting path comprises at least 60% of the whole cutting path length;
• and
• wherein the beginning part cut from the web is directed onto the reeling shaft of the new parent roll.
