Anti-s1p antibody treatment of patients with ocular disease

A method selected from the group consisting of:

• (a) a method of treating a subject having a choroidal neovascularization lesion, comprising administering an anti-S1P antibody or S1P-binding antibody fragment in an amount sufficient to reduce progression in size of the choroidal neovascularization lesion;
• (b) a method of treating retinal pigment epithelial detachment, comprising administering to an affected eye of a subject having or suspected of having retinal pigment epithelial detachment, an anti-S1P antibody or S1P-binding antibody fragment in an amount sufficient to stabilize or decrease the retinal pigment epithelial detachment;
• (c) a method of reducing central retinal thickness in an eye of a subject having a choroidal neovascularization lesion, comprising administering an anti-S1P antibody or S1P-binding antibody fragment in an amount sufficient to cause a reduction in central retinal thickness of the eye;
• and
• (d) method for preserving or improving visual acuity in a patient having or suspected of having choroidal neovascularization, comprising administering an anti-S1P antibody or S1P-binding antibody fragment in an amount sufficient to preserve or improve visual acuity.
