A hose clamp includes a first grip piece (6) on one end of a body (2) and a second grip piece (7) on the other end. A locking portion (L1) extends from the first grip piece (6) toward the second grip piece (7), and a restricting portion (R1) is projected from the root of the second grip piece (7). When the grip pieces (6, 7) are moved closer to each other to transfer the body (2) from a closed-diameter state to an opened-diameter state, the locking portion (L1) abuts with the top of the restricting portion (R1), and the upward movement of the second grip piece (7) in association with the operation of the grip pieces is restricted. During the operation, the locking portion (L1) is in slide-contact with a guide surface (15) formed on the top of the restricting portion (R1) and, accordingly, the locking portion (L1) is guided to a receiving portion (A1) of the second grip piece (7). Thus, the engagement operation between the locking portion (L1) and the receiving portion (A1) is guided.
