Abstract
Of the many compositions and methods provided herein, one example composition includes a treatment fluid comprising: an aqueous fluid; and a tar stabilizing polymer comprising at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of a styrene polymer, an acrylate polymer, a styrene-acrylate polymer, and any combination thereof.

A subterranean treatment fluid comprising:
- an aqueous fluid;
- and
- a tar stabilizing polymer comprising at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of a styrene polymer, an acrylate polymer, a styrene-acrylate polymer, and any combination thereof.
A drilling fluid comprising:
- an aqueous fluid;
- a tar stabilizing polymer comprising styrene in an amount in a range of about 1% to about 10% by volume of the drilling fluid;
- and
- a weighting agent.
