Booklet form paperboard package for media discs

A package for holding an item comprising:

• a plurality of page spread blanks each comprising four panels, a first panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, a fourth panel being adhesively secured to a third panel, and a fold being disposed between the second panel and the third panel, wherein the first panel and the fourth panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening;
• a front endsheet blank comprising three panels, a third panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, wherein the third panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening;
• and
• a back endsheet blank comprising three panels, a first panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, wherein the first panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening;
• and
• wherein the front endsheet blank is connected to one of the plurality of page spread blanks and the back endsheet blank is connected to another of the plurality of page spread blanks.

A method of forming a package for holding an item, the method comprising:

• providing at least one page spread blank comprising four panels, a first panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, a fourth panel being adhesively secured to a third panel, and a fold being disposed between the second panel and the third panel, wherein the first panel and the fourth panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening;
• providing a front endsheet blank comprising three panels, a third panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, wherein the third panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening;
• providing a back endsheet blank comprising three panels, a first panel being adhesively secured to a second panel, wherein the first panel further comprise a disc receiving opening and a pair of disc securing lugs, the disc securing lugs adapted to contact an outer periphery of an item placed into the disc receiving opening and removed from the disc receiving opening
• attaching the at least one page spread blank to the front endsheet blank such that a disc receiving opening of the page spread blank is disposed adjacent the disc receiving opening of the front endsheet blank;
• and
• attaching the at least one page spread blank to the back endsheet blank such that a disc receiving opening of the page spread blank is disposed adjacent the disc receiving opening of the back endsheet blank,
• wherein a first disc receiving pocket is formed between the disc receiving openings of front endsheet blank and the page spread blank and a second disc receiving pocket is formed between the disc receiving openings of the back endsheet blank and the page spread blank.
