Abstract
A compression roll housing (1) for an agricultural machine having opposing front and rear ends (11b, 12) for connection to parts of the machine, an upper and a lower panel (16) and two opposing side panels (15). Each of said side panels is provided with at least one substantially vertical elongated aperture (7) for receiving a shaft (3) of a compression roll (2a). Each of the side panels is also provided with a horizontal aperture (8) which extends across the at least one elongated aperture to the front or rear end of the housing.
Claims13
A compression roll housing for an agricultural machine having opposing front and rear ends for connection to parts of the machine, an upper and a lower panel and two opposing side panels, each of said side panels provided with at least one substantially vertical elongated aperture for receiving a shaft of a compression roll and a horizontal aperture which extends across the at least one elongated aperture to the front or rear end of the housing.
-6. (canceled)
A method of mounting a compression roll to a compression roll housing of an agricultural machine, comprising:
- exposing an open end of a horizontal aperture at an end of a compression roll housing, the horizontal aperture configured to receive an end of an upper compression roll;
- placing an end of an upper compression roll in the open end of the horizontal aperture at a front end of the housing;
- moving the end of the upper compression roll along the horizontal aperture to an open end of a vertical aperture in the compression roll housing, the vertical aperture configured to receive the end of the upper roll;
- moving the end of the upper roll along the vertical aperture to a desired position;
- and
- closing the open end of the horizontal aperture.
A method of mounting a compression roll to a compression roll housing of an agricultural machine, comprising:
- exposing a first and second horizontal aperture at an end of a compression roll housing, the first and second horizontal apertures having an open end configured to receive an end of an upper compression roll;
- placing a first end of an upper compression roll in the open end of the first horizontal aperture and a second end of the upper roll in the open end of the second horizontal aperture at a front end of the housing;
- moving the upper compression roll along the first and second horizontal apertures to a first and second vertical aperture in the compression roll housing, the first and second vertical aperture configured to receive the first end and second end of the upper roll respectively;
- moving the first end of the upper roll and the second end of the upper roll along the first and second vertical apertures to a desired position;
- and
- closing the open end of the first and second horizontal apertures.
