Base station, communication system, and communication method

A communication system comprising:

• a base station which is connected to a core network;
• and
• a mobile station which communicates with the base station;
• wherein the base station includes
• a first communication section configured to communication a wireless signal with the mobile station and another base station,
• a second communication section configured to communication a data signal with the core network,
• a wireless relay function section configured to perform first control so as to relay the wireless signal to be communicated with the other base station between the other base station and the mobile station,
• a communication function section configured to perform second control to convert between a data signal and a wireless signal, and to transmit the converted data signal and the converted wireless signal, and
• a selection control section configured to select at least one of the first control and the second controlto use for communication with the mobile station, based on a reception level of the wireless signal from the other base station,
• and wherein the mobile station includes
• a third communication section configured to communication a wireless signal with the base station.

A communication method comprising:

• receiving, at a base station, a wireless signal from a mobile station and another base station;
• receiving, at the base station, a data signal from a core network which is connected to the base station;
• and
• based on a reception level of the wireless signal from the other base station, selecting at least one of first control and second control to use for communication between the base station and the mobile station,
• the first control relaying the wireless signal communicated with the other base station between the other base station and the mobile station, and
• the second control converting between a data signal and a wireless signal, and to transmit the converted data signal and the converted wireless signal.
