Abstract
The present invention relates to isolated fungal promoter DNA sequences, to DNA constructs, vectors, and fungal host cells comprising these promoters in operative association with coding sequences encoding polypeptides. The present invention also relates to methods for expressing a gene and/or producing a polypeptide using the new promoters isolated. The present invention also relates to methods for altering the transcription level and/or regulation of an endogenous gene using the new promoter of the invention.
Claims26
An isolated DNA sequence selected from the group consisting of:
- (a) a DNA sequence comprising SEQ ID NO:1,
- (b) a DNA sequence capable of hybridizing to the complement of the full length sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 under high stringency conditions of 42° C., 5×SSPE, 0.3% SDS, 200 μg/ml sheared and denatured salmon sperm DNA, and 50% formamide followed by washing three times each for 15 minutes using 2×SSC, 0.2% SDS at 60° C., and
- (c) a DNA sequence that is at least 90% identical to SEQ ID NO:1 along the full length of SEQ ID NO:1;
- said isolated DNA sequence having promoter activity.
