Abstract
A battery case for a secondary battery and a secondary battery using the same. The secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and the battery case. The electrode assembly is composed of a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator interposed therebetween. The battery case is provided with an accommodating portion that accommodates the electrode assembly. In the secondary battery, the depth of the accommodating portion is approximately 70% to approximately 80% of the thickness of the electrode assembly.

A secondary battery, comprising:
- an electrode assembly composed of a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator interposed therebetween;
- and
- a battery case provided with an accommodating portion that accommodates the electrode assembly,
- a depth of the accommodating portion is approximately 70% to approximately 80% of a thickness of the electrode assembly.

- the case accommodates an electrode assembly composed of one or more electrode plates and a separate interposed between the electrode plates,
- the case comprising a first case portion and a second case portion,
- an accommodating portion being provided to at least one of the first and second case portions, and
- the depth of the accommodating portion being approximately 70% to approximately 80% of the thickness of the electrode assembly.
