Abstract
Exemplary embodiments provide composite materials used for fixing members that can include silsesquioxane-based particles and/or carbon nanotubes dispersed in a polymer matrix.
Claims12
A composite material comprising:
- a polymer matrix comprising a polymer;
- and
- a plurality of functionalized silsesquioxane-based particles dispersed in a polymer matrix in an amount such that at least one surface of the composite layer comprises one or more structural surface features.
A method for making a fixing member comprising:
- providing a substrate;
- forming a coating composition comprising a plurality of silsesquioxane-based particles, a plurality of carbon nanotubes and one or more polymers;
- applying the formed coating composition to the substrate;
- and
- heating the applied coating composition to form an outermost layer of the fixing member.
