Method of removing a blocking phenomenon using properties of two blocks

A method of reducing a blocking phenomenon using quantization information in a filtering system, comprising:

• obtaining quantization information related to at least one of the first and second blocks
• comparing a value related to the quantization information with a constant value,
• determining whether the first block and the second block are intra-coded blocks,
• performing a filtering process for the first block and the second block corresponding to the intra-coded blocks based on the comparing step,
• the filtering process including,
• calculating values of at least two pixels in the first block to obtain filtered values, based on pixel values of the at least two pixels in at least one of the first block and the second block,
• wherein the method further comprises:
• filtering at least at least two successive pixels on a block boundary between the first and second blocks.
