Abstract
A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a reference surface extending along a sheet conveyance direction and configured to regulate the position of a side edge of a sheet to be conveyed, a skew conveyance mechanism configured to convey the sheet obliquely so that the side edge of the sheet collides against the reference surface, and a sheet deforming unit configured to deform the side edge of the sheet when the sheet is conveyed toward the reference surface by the skew conveyance mechanism.

A sheet conveyance apparatus comprising:
- a reference surface extending along a sheet conveyance direction and configured to regulate the position of a side edge of a sheet to be conveyed;
- a skew conveyance mechanism configured to convey the sheet obliquely so that the side edge of the sheet collides against the reference surface;
- a guide unit provided between the reference surface and the skew conveyance mechanism and configured to guide the side edge of the sheet conveyed by the skew conveyance mechanism to the reference surface, the guide unit including a first guide having a sheet conveyance surface facing one surface of the sheet to be conveyed and a second guide having a sheet conveyance surface facing the other surface of the sheet to be conveyed;
- a recessed portion provided on one of the sheet conveyance surface of the first guide and the sheet conveyance surface of the second guide;
- and
- a raised portion provided on the other of the sheet conveyance surface of the first guide and the sheet conveyance surface of the second guide, the raised portion is opposed to the recessed portion.

An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image forming unit configured to form an image on a sheet;
- and
- a sheet conveyance apparatus configured to convey the sheet to the image forming unit,
- wherein the sheet conveyance apparatus includes:
- a reference surface extending along a sheet conveyance direction and configured to regulate the position of a side edge of a sheet to be conveyed;
- a skew conveyance mechanism configured to convey the sheet obliquely so that the side edge of the sheet collides against the reference surface;
- a guide unit provided between the reference surface and the skew conveyance mechanism and configured to guide the side edge of the sheet conveyed by the skew conveyance mechanism to the reference surface, the guide unit including a first guide having a sheet conveyance surface facing one surface of the sheet to be conveyed and a second guide having a sheet conveyance surface facing the other surface of the sheet to be conveyed;
- a recessed portion provided on one of the sheet conveyance surface of the first guide and the sheet conveyance surface of the second guide;
- and
- a raised portion provided on the other of the sheet conveyance surface of the first guide and the sheet conveyance surface of the second guide, the raised portion is opposed to the recessed portion.
