Abstract
The invention relates to an apparatus for transporting and dispersing solid particles into the earth's stratosphere, comprising a conduit connecting a substantially ground level location to an elevated location, a particle transport means, and a deagglomeration means coupled with a dispersal means, wherein the deagglomeration means and dispersal means are located at an elevated location, and to a method of transporting particles of high refractive index into the stratosphere as well as to an aircraft and to a cloud thus formed.

An apparatus for transporting and dispersing solid particles into the earth's atmosphere, comprising a conduit connecting a substantially ground level location to an elevated location, a particle transport means, and a deagglomeration means coupled with a dispersal means, wherein the deagglomeration means and dispersal means are located at the elevated location.
The apparatus according to 60, wherein the particles transported via the conduit have a mean particle size in the range of from 0.01 to 1.3 μm.
A cloud of solid particles located at an elevated location wherein the cloud comprises at least 1,000 tonnes of solid particles over a region of at least a thousand square kilometres.
A method of transporting solid particles having a refractive index of greater than 1.40 into the earth's atmosphere, the method comprising transporting the particles via a conduit from a substantially ground level location to an elevated location and dispersing the particles into the atmosphere.
