Abstract
A system and method of managing the profiles of users in a cloud based managed utility computing environment. New architectures and components are required for the delivery, management and control of a user's profile in a managed utility computing environment that works over the Internet (referred to in the title as the cloud). A user profile is built where the user can receive information of interest in a cloud-based managed utility computing environment. The profile stores the characteristics and interests of the users and this can be used to the benefit of the user and also the service provider. Applications and advertisements are provided to appropriate users.

A method of delivering cloud based utility services, the method comprising:
- registering a user in a utility computing environment;
- obtaining one or more user inputs, the user inputs being inputs provided by the user;
- obtaining usage data of the user;
- analyzing the user inputs and the usage data corresponding to the user in order to generate a user profile;
- and
- delivering one or more cloud based utility services based on the user profile.
A system for delivering cloud based utility services, the system comprising:
- at least one user device comprising:
- a customer relationship management module configured for obtaining one or more user inputs, the user inputs being inputs provided by a user;
- a utility computing management system configured for obtaining usage data of the user;
- and
- a profile engine coupled to the customer relationship management module and the utility computing management system, the profile engine configured for receiving and analyzing the user inputs and the usage data corresponding to the user and generating a user profile of thereafter for the user;
- and
- a utility computing server configured for controlling operation of multiple server farms;
- wherein at least one of the server farms is capable of being connected to the user device through a network, the utility computing server configured for delivering one or more cloud based utility services based on the user profile.
