Abstract
The invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS), which is suited for the administration of a peptide to a patient through skin treated with ablation. The transdermal therapeutic system includes a back layer and an active substance-containing layer that contains at least one peptide and a carrier substance, preferably as a textile web material.
Claims20
A transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) for administering a peptide onto ablatively treated skin to a patient comprising (i) a backing layer furnished with a pressure-sensitively adhesive layer comprising at least one water-insoluble polymer;
- (ii) an active ingredient layer comprising at least one peptide and a carrier substance in the form of a sheetlike textile structure;
- and (iii) a protective sheet.
A method for producing a TTS comprising (i) a backing layer furnished with a pressure-sensitively adhesive layer;
- (ii) an active ingredient layer comprising at least one peptide and a carrier substance in the form of a sheetlike textile structure;
- and (iii) a protective sheet, said method comprising:
- a. placing a carrier substance having a sheetlike textile structure onto that side of a backing layer that is coated with a water-insoluble, pressure-sensitively adhesive polymer,
- b. preparing an active ingredient solution by mixing the peptide with water and optionally, at least one auxiliary,
- c. applying the active ingredient solution to the sheetlike textile structure,
- d. drying the sheetlike textile structure and applied active ingredient solution to a predetermined water content of below 20%, and
- e. lining an assembly comprising the backing layer and active ingredient layer with a protective sheet, and packaging it the lined assembly.
A method for administering a peptide through ablatively treated skin to a patient comprising applying a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) comprising a backing layer, which is furnished with a pressure-sensitively adhesive layer, and an active ingredient layer comprising at least one peptide and a carrier substance in the form of a sheetlike textile structure to ablatively treated skin on a patient.
A method of fertility treatment comprising application of a transdermal therapeutic system (TTS) comprising a backing layer, a layer comprising the active ingredient FSH, and a protective sheet, comprising, in a first step, ablatively treating the skin of a female patient by a laser skin ablation technique, applying, in a second step, a first TTS with a GnRH agonist to the skin location thus treated and leaving the first TTS with the GnRH agonist at this skin location for a prolonged time period, the first TTS delivering the GnRH agonist released in the second step transdermally to the patient;
- in a third step, ablatively treating a further skin location on the patient by a laser skin ablation technique, and at this further skin location, in the fourth step, applying the TTS with the active ingredient FSH thereby administering FSH transdermally and bringing about the formation of follicles in the patient.
