An electrode assembly includes a porous polymer layer, a conductive layer on each of a first and a second surface of the porous polymer layer, and an active material layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer.

An electrode assembly, comprising:
- a porous polymer layer having opposite first and second surfaces;
- a conductive layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer;
- and
- an active material layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer.

A secondary battery, comprising:
- an electrode assembly, the electrode assembly including:
- a porous polymer layer having opposite first and second surfaces,
- a conductive layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer, and
- an active material layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer;
- a can configured to accommodate the electrode assembly and an electrolyte;
- and
- a cap assembly configured to seal the can.

A method of manufacturing an electrode assembly, the method comprising:
- coating a conductive layer on each of a first and a second surface of a porous polymer layer, the first and second surfaces being opposite each other;
- coating an active material layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer, such that the active material layer exposes portions of the conductive layer on each of the first and second surfaces of the porous polymer layer;
- and
- bending the porous polymer layer in a bent structure, such that the exposed portions of the conductive layer are arranged at opposite edges of the bent structure.
