Abstract
[Object] To obtain an anti-integrin α8β1 antibody which binds to integrin α8β1 derived from mammals of different species. Also, to obtain an anti-integrin α8β1 antibody which inhibits binding between integrin α8β1 and its ligand. [Solution] Anti-integrin α8β1 antibodies which bind to integrin α8β1 derived from mammals of different species have been obtained. In addition, inhibitors, which contain an anti-integrin α8β1 antibody, of binding between integrin α8β1 and its ligand have been obtained.
Claims22
An integrin α8β1 antibody which inhibits binding between integrin α8β1 and its ligand, wherein the antibody binds to integrin α8β1 derived from mammals of different species.

A process for producing an antibody, comprising the steps of:
- introducing a polynucleotide encoding an antigenic protein into cells;
- causing the antigenic protein to be expressed in the cells;
- and
- immunizing a chicken with an antigen containing cells expressing the antigenic protein or an antigen containing a cell membrane having the antigenic protein.
